"Timing comparisons indicate that Feature Analyst reduces extraction time by a factor of 5 to 10 over small areas," wrote Michael O'Brien, NGA STAR Program Manager, in his report, Feature Extraction with the VLS Feature Analyst System. "By using Feature Analyst to develop automated classification models over a small training set and extrapolating to larger areas, extraction times could be reduced by several orders of magnitude over large areas." |
