LIDAR Analyst

LIDAR Analyst^® is the premiere 3D feature extraction solution for airborne LIDAR (Light Detection and Ranging or Laser Imaging Detection and Ranging) data, supporting Homeland Security, Defense and Intelligence, Forestry, and other vertical markets requiring high-resolution terrain information.

LIDAR Analyst radically simplifies the process of extracting 3D bare earth terrain, buildings, trees/forests, contour lines, and terrain characteristics. By attributing nearly 100% of building and tree features, LIDAR Analyst enables geospatial analysts to capture and exploit 3D data sets within centimeters of sensor accuracy. LIDAR Analyst can ingest data in various formats including LAS, ASCII text, Digital Elevation Models (DEM) or raster, and 3D point shape files.

LIDAR Analyst is modular in nature and can be used as a standalone extension or in conjunction with Feature Analyst to create an integrated suite of tools which work together to satisfy every aspect of creating, maintaining and analyzing 3D data such as urban models.

LIDAR Analyst 5.0

Version 5.0, will be compatible with ESRI's ArcGIS®, ERDAS IMAGINE® and Overwatch's ELT® 5500, Global Image Viewer 3.2 and Image Light Table Plus 4.2 systems. New features and capabilities include:

• Improved bare earth extraction for point clouds
• Terrain Analysis Tool
• Ability to read Mr. SID compressed LAS files
• Tighter integration with Feature Analyst
• Improved batch classification
• Integration with ESRI's Model Builder
• Improved support for map projections
