Feature Analyst® 4.2

Multi-class Smoothing: Previously, Feature Analyst would smooth a polygon, and remove vertices, however they would not match up coincidentally with other vectors. This capability has been added so that multiple vectors will remaining coincident even after smoothing.

Vector Generalization: When converting to vector from raster, the user is able to establish a generalizing threshold prior to conversion. This allows for faster conversions of large files.

Batch Enhancements: More information has been added to the progress bar during batch processing and an auto-naming function has been made available.

Tile Based Processing: This is an algorithm enhancement that results in more efficient processing of large image datasets.

Feature Modeler: Allows users to open AFE files to see what processes and settings were used in each step of an extraction. It also allows users to reset the AFE model and run the same processes on different images using different training sets and masks.

Feature Model Library: Enables users to store their AFE models in a central database and metadata about those models. The Administration tool allows users to add models to the library and specify questions and answers that help guide users to the correct model. The Client tool allows users to quickly search the database and find the appropriate model by answering questions about the extraction they are trying to conduct.

Input Analyzer: Helps users to see how the input representation was being used in the extraction. This tool presents information that indicates which bands of the extraction were most important, along with which cells within the input representation are weighted the most.
