OVERWATCH SOFTWARE Feature Analyst Feature Analyst® is an automated feature extraction extension that enables GIS analysts to rapidly and accurately collect vector feature data from high-resolution satellite and aerial imagery. With as much as 60-80% of GIS implementation and management costs being attributed to staying up-to-date with the volume of image data that is produced on a daily basis, the ability to quickly and accurately extract features from GIS data is a major requirement. Feature Analyst was created to address this need and enables analysts to quickly and accurately collect linear and polygonal features such as roads, hydrologic features, trails, buildings, vegetation, land-cover/land-use and many other features. Organizations such as the USDA Forest Service and the National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency (NGA) have used the software extensively, and each has completed thorough analyses of the software. View the USDA Forest Service publication, or view the NGA publication (new window will open). Feature Analyst 5.0 Version 5.0 will be compatible with ESRI's ArcGIS®, ERDAS IMAGINE® and Overwatch's ELT® 5500, GIV 3.0 and Image Light Table Plus 4.2 systems. New features and capabilities include:
Feature Analyst is modular in nature and can be used as a standalone extension or in conjunction with LIDAR Analyst to create an integrated suite of tools which work together to satisfy every aspect of creating, maintaining and analyzing 3D data such as urban models. The Feature Analyst features and enhancements page provides more information about these new capabilities.
